How to Play Color Blast

Color Blast is a classic "same game" tile-matching puzzle. The board is a 10×10 grid of colored tiles. Click a group of two or more connected tiles of the same color to clear them. Tiles above fall down, and empty columns slide left. Clearing n tiles scores n×(n−1) points — the bigger the group, the higher the score. The game ends when no groups remain.

Tips for a Higher Score

From the SameGame Family

Color Blast is part of a tile-clearing lineage that goes back to Chain Shot!, a Japanese arcade game from 1985 better known under its later name SameGame. The rules proved so durable that the genre spread to every platform of the following four decades: tap a group of touching tiles of one color, watch them vanish, and let everything above fall into place.

The depth hides in the scoring. Small groups are always available, but the reward for a group grows much faster than its size — which means the tempting two-tile click is usually a mistake. Strong players scan the whole board for the largest cluster, open a path with a small group only when it merges two big ones, and try to leave the board empty at the end, the genre's version of a perfect game.

Вопросы и ответы

How do you play Color Blast?

Click a connected group of two or more same-colored tiles to clear it. Tiles above fall down and empty columns slide left; the game ends when no groups remain.

How is the score calculated?

Clearing n tiles scores n×(n−1) points — clearing 10 tiles at once earns 90 points, so building big groups is the key to a high score.

Can I play Color Blast on my phone?

Yes — just tap the tiles. No download or installation required, works in any modern browser.

Any tips for a high score?

Clear from the bottom to create new connections above, merge small clusters into big ones before clearing, and watch how empty columns shift left.

Why can't I clear a single tile in Color Blast?

Only groups of two or more touching tiles of the same color can be removed. That single rule is what turns the game from a mindless tap-fest into a planning exercise: singles are the debris left behind by greedy play, and avoiding them is what a high score is made of.

What counts as a perfect game in Color Blast?

Emptying the entire board. Because only groups of two or more can vanish, a fully cleared board proves that every single removal was planned to keep matching colors together. Many players consider a clean sweep more satisfying than a high score.
